by Stoney Creek 3ball Golf Classic
On Friday 20th April Bexley Golf Club held the very first qualifying round of the Stoney Creek 3ball Golf Classic.
Ian Graham (President of Bexley Golf Club) and Bill Davis (Vice President of Bexley Golf Club) enjoy playing in the 1st qualifying round of The Stoney Creek 3ball Golf Classic played at Bexley Golf Club. Pictured here from left to right - Ken Firmstone, Bill Davis, Ian Graham, Bruce Henley, Frank Harvey and William West.
Despite the atrocious wet weather in the days leading up to the event and the threat of inclement weather on the day 51 players turned up to play in the inaugural event. An outstanding success is the only way to describe the day but let the players themselves tell you what they thought of the day.
The day was won by Frank Bilgic, Steve Goktas and John Cavaleri all three players are members at Taralga pictured above.
"A brilliant concept! A lot of fun and it really does capture the idea of playing for your mates. It tests all facets of your golf game, especially your nerves! Can't wait to play this format again!!"
Above is a picture of the 1st ever group to tee off in a qualifying round for the Stoney Creek 3ball Golf Classic. The 2 teams were made up of John Paton, Bill Mitchell, Larie Budden, Robert Johnstone, Sotiropous and Spiro Terkalis.
It was great to see some mixed groups out on the course - Pictured here is Keith Lewis, Barbara Hawkes and Judith Shade.
